towards a (wiki-)culture applied to
global economy and society at large

The Wikinomics project aims to foster key competences required for employability in the constantly changing environments of the world of work. It sets free-culture and wiki methodologies as the basis for an innovative pedagogical methodology.
3 different events are organised by the WIkiNomics project begining of April:
- a Wikithon : for wiki experts and Wiki Angels a training and brainstorming session to develop and reinforce the pool of Wiki Angels resources to which the companies and organisations can call upon when they want to deploy a real wiki culture (not only a wiki platform).
- a TEDx Event (TEDx Geneva and Digital Age).
- the WikiNomics partnership meeting on the future developments, and especially on the coming Basecamp meeeting for companies and organisations on problem seek solutions (problem solving) where companies and Wiki Angels share and solve related issues.

In addition, the Swiss partners of the WikiNomics project organise a TEDx event related to the wiki and e-culture on the Monday 7 April afternoon. This event is publicly open. 

The Wikithon event is public open, but requires prior registration (with a limited number of seats.
Wikiangels host a wikithon on 4-7 April 2014: a getting together in order to transform our practices, methodologies, knowledge to new tools and services.
Wiki culture is not something new to humanity, we have always worked in communities and, often, under a collaborative codes. This Wikithon is the opportunity to discuss and apply the wiki culture as system of governance: how to empower a transition to more open and collaborative practices in various type of organisations.
During the Wikithon, we will exchange on learning and training with wikis, document our practices and explore ways to work, further, together. It will also contribute to the prepapration of the following type of supporting events: the Bootcamp for companies and organisations to be launched next autumn. The Bootcamp will work as a seek problem solutions exchange place between companies, organisation deploying collaborative culture and between Wiki-Angels.

The WikiNomics meeting is for the WikiNomics partners plus some invited speakers.

The specific objectives of the WikiNomics project:

  • To shape a transversal, multi-sectorial key-competences model, compliant with the ECVET framework, and provide concrete tools and methodologies.
  • To develop, implement and evaluate a training module specially designed to match VET specificities and different sectors, which integrates free culture and wiki-based methodologies.
  • To conduct a series of collaborative wiki-based learning scenarios in which VET trainees will conduct meaningful activities.
  • To create a sustainable community of practices among VET actors among Europe.
